We want to have our honeymoon in a vineyard (and other things we learned from MAFS this week)

You might have caught an article we reposted earlier in the week featuring our modern-day cupid, Dr Lurve. The expert on all matters of the heart, Dr Lurve weighed in on this week’s Healthy-ish podcast entitled, Why am I, a grown woman, obsessed with reality dating shows?

“Everyone is attached to the happily ever after” Dr Lurve told co-hosts Maz Compton and Dr Andrew Rochford, “We’ve grown up in a Disneyland-world and, whether we like it or not, we want to watch. There’s an underlying unconscious thought which means we actually do want to see that.”

With over a million of us tuning in to Married at First Sight each night this week, it’s safe to say we’re not alone here at GAT HQ in our love for a modern day fairy-tale and reality TV.

And, while there’s something to be said for a woman who writes her skincare routine into her vows (we see you Martha!), we have to say that our front-running favourites have to be self-professed dork, Lauren, and shy, sweetheart and all-round good guy, Matthew.

Their wedding was a little bit awkward, a little bit funny but a lotadorable.

The loved-up newlyweds were then whisked away to a very familiar location – our very own, Beresford House. Nestled among rolling vineyards, as the camera panned across the majestic estate you’d be forgiven for forgetting that this luxe location is less than an hour out of Adelaide in beautiful McLaren Vale.

Cue 60 minutes of stunning panoramic shots of Beresford Estate, featuring a luxurious bubble bath, gourmet breakfast in (an enormous four poster) bed and some of the most beautiful interiors we’ve ever seen.

The cute couple sipped on glasses of Beresford’s limited release estate wines, embarked on a helicopter ride, adventured through the sprawling property and treated themselves to sumptuous cheeseboards and a degustation dinner at the restaurant.

It was truly what dreams are made of.

We won’t reveal what happened next in case you haven’t caught up, but we’ll attach the video below so you can check out the next chapter in Lauren and Matthew’s story and the gorgeous location that played host to their honeymoon.

Until the next episode, we’ll just be over here eating biscuits out of our handbags.
